Welcome to my blog. This will be my fifteenth year teaching, all at Iowa-Grant School District. The first seven years I was here I taught computer applications to first through eighth grade students. I then taught seven years at the third grade level. This will be my first year as a fourth grade teacher!
I enjoy working with technology and especially enjoy incorporating it into the classroom. I am very excited to have a projector, document viewer, SmartBoard, and five iPads in our classroom and try to integrate them into learning often.
For this year's blog I found a picture with books, and think that is very fitting. One of my favorite things about elementary is being a part of watching students blossom as readers.
I have been married for nine years to my wife, Jessie, who is an art teacher at Mineral Point. We have two children, Alstan, who is entering kindergarten and Elsie, who is three years old. You can see my family blog here: Van Overmeer.
